For 20 år siden, den 23. april gik Benromach igang igen med at destillere efter at have været lukket i 15 år.
Dette fejres med en aftapning fra 1998, der er det hidtil ældste der er aftappet siden genåbningen. Der er tale om en single malt der har ligget på first-fill ex-sherry og first-fill ex-bourbon fade, både fra europæisk og amerikansk eg.

...enjoy the rich notes of fruit cake, mingling with sweet demerara sugar and vanilla. Underlying hints of zingy citrus and dark chocolate develop with a touch of warm spice. Now take a sip...The delicious sweetness of stewed raisin and apple is wonderfully complemented by dark chocolate. Notes of orange zest, toffee, ginger and liquorice follow, leading to a hint of smooth creaminess and lingering charred oak on the finish. Add a few drops of water and take time to enjoy the nose as it develops… top notes of sweet vanilla, ripe pear and melon and luscious summer berries mingle with hints of butterscotch and citrus peel. Now lift it to your lips and enjoy a slow sip… a creamy sweetness combining with sherry influences and baked plum immediately emerges followed by traces of cinnamon and chocolate. Hints of apricot, orange and charred oak blend with subtle spice and a light touch of smoke on the finish.

Benromach 20th Anniversary Bottling på 19 år er aftappet ved fadstyrke på 56,2% alc. og der kommer 3000 flasker af denne aftapning til en pris af £299
