De kommende Diageo's (Kilde: dramming.com)

Diageo has announced its Single Malt Scotch Whiskies to be released in limited edition this autumn in the Special Releases series. All are at natural cask strength.
As usual, the series embraces some exceedingly rare and therefore increasingly sought after single malts from the dwindling stocks of long-silent distilleries alongside expressions from familiar and less familiar working distilleries, but at unusual ages.

The eight single malt releases this year are:
Auchroisk™ 30 year
Brora™ 35 year old
Caol Ila™ 14 year old
Dalwhinnie™ 25 year old
Lagavulin™ 12 year old
Lagavulin™ 21 year old
Port Ellen™ 32 year old
Talisker™ 35 year old
All are at natural cask strength.

Compared to the 35 yo Talisker and the 32 yo Port Ellen, the 35 yo Brora is a true bargain at £400. Ouch.

Interestingly, after Roseisle Diageo just announced that they've officially planned to build a new 13Mio lpa malt distillery. They've sent pre-planning applications for three sites, near Teaninich, Glendullan and Inchgower. They've not decided yet on which place they'll choose, but they seem to be willing to act quick. It doesn't seem to be an 'extension' or 'replacement' project, it'll be a true new distillery.

Diageo sets out £1billion Scotch whisky investment plan
- New malt whisky distillery and major expansion of existing distilleries
- Substantial warehousing expansion to store maturing spirit
- Hundreds of jobs created in Diageo and wider Scottish economy
Diageo, the world's leading premium drinks business, has unveiled plans to invest over £1billion in Scotch whisky production over the next five years to meet growing global demand for its brands.
A major new malt distillery will be built as part of the investment, alongside a programme of major expansion at a number of Diageo's existing distilleries. Detailed plans will also be developed for a second new distillery which will be built if global demand for Scotch is sustained at expected levels.
The company also plans to invest in substantial new warehousing capacity to house the millions of additional litres of Scotch whisky which the distillation investment will produce.

Rygter fra Facebook:
Belgian whisky distiller Belgian Owl proves to be a success story. To follow the increasing demand, they just bought two new stills. Well...not all that new actually, but two old stills from...Caperdonich. That way they can increase production from 20.000 to 80.000 bottles a year. They also will concentrate all activities in one location: a very nice old farmhouse, where the barley for the Belgian owl grows. They also will install a mashtun and open a visitors center. The total operation costst over 700.000 euro, and if all goes well, the 'new' distillery will be perational in summer 2013.

BUFFALO TRACE DISTILLERY RELEASES 2012 ANTIQUE COLLECTION

FRANKFORT, Franklin County, Ky (Sept. 4, 2012) At long last, Buffalo Trace Distillery is releasing its 2012 Antique Collection in September. The much anticipated collection will once again feature five limited-release whiskeys of various ages, recipes and proofs. Here's what ardent fans can expect:

Eagle Rare 17 Year Old

The previous edition of this bourbon was honored with a Gold Medal at the 2012 International Wine and Spirits Competition. The 2012 edition was distilled in the spring of 1993 and has been aging on the 2nd, 3rd and 6th floors of Warehouses I and K. After nearly two decades of aging under its belt, it has been described as dry and delicate, with hints of leather, almonds and tobacco.

Master of Malt har lanceret en ny serie NAS aftapninger

The Boutiquey Whisky Company

www.masterofmalt.com/distillerie ... y-company/

Glenglassaugh Unveils Unique New Range Of Single Casks "“ The Massandra Connection
An exciting new range of single cask bottlings has been launched by Glenglassaugh Distillery as a result of an exclusive deal with a world renowned Crimean winery. The Massandra Connection Single Cask Series comprises five different single malt Scotch whiskies "“ each of which have gained their own unique characteristics and flavour after being finished in casks previously used for maturing fine wine.
Glenglassaugh, which is based near Portsoy in Aberdeenshire, was able to acquire a very limited number of casks from Massandra, which specialises in fortified and dessert wines, in which to finish some of its oldest malt whisky. Only 1349 bottles have been produced from the five casks which were used to produce this selection.
Stuart Nickerson, managing director of Glenglassaugh Distillery, says, "Each of the casks has helped our single malt whisky to develop its own exclusive, distinctive character while still retaining the award winning qualities for which Glenglassaugh is rightly very highly regarded. This range is unique and each of the styles has its own distinct identity.
"While using ex-wine or sherry casks to finish whisky is nothing new, we believe that this is the first time that a distillery has been able to use Crimean wine casks in this process. Previously, the Massandra Winery would use their casks until physical exhaustion and this is the first time that they have allowed the casks to be used outside of the winery.
"We are very excited by the results, and we believe that there will be an incredible demand for the very limited collection of bottles that we have available. Due to the small quantity of bottles available from each cask and the anticipated demand for the product, it has been offered on an allocation basis to importers in some of our strongest markets and to a limited number of whisky merchants in the UK."

Berry Bros & Rudd
Cadenheads
Master of Malt
Whisky-Doris
scotchwhisky.net
Misako Udo
Malt Maniacs
Whiskyfun
SMWS
Awa.dk
The Whisky Exchange
Schottland Wegweiser = Macduff Distillery ligger på kanten af Speyside. Ifølge nogle eksperter ligger Bognie og Deveron i Speyside, mens andre knytter destilleriet til Highlands
Malt Whisky Yearbook = Highlands

Interessant diskussion for øvrigt.
