Litha er en ny aftapning fra Macallan der har lagt på first fill sherry casks fra Jerez de la Frontera i spanien og er aftappet ved 40%
Litha er det keltiske ord for solhverv.
Noter (Macallan):
Nose: Butterscotch, vanilla and chocolate with citrus and tropical fruits
Palate: Vanilla ice cream topped with a berry compote, toasted oak, warming wood spice with salted caramel and pecans
Finish: Medium with fruits, vanilla and oak

Batch 3 af GlenAllachie 30yo er aftappet og der er frigivet 2400 flasker af denne.
Fadene er fra start 90'erne og typerne der er fundet til dette batch er Pedro Ximénez og Oloroso Sherry hogsheads, samt nogle American virgin oak casks.
Batch 3 er aftappet ved cask strength på 48,9%.
Said to “embody Sherry-matured indulgence”, the rare Scotch whisky’s flavour profile boasts sophisticated waves of rich espresso, chocolate-covered hazelnuts, grated ginger and stewed plums.
Billy Walker udtaler om denne aftapning: “The GlenAllachie team and I are thrilled to bring the next batch of our oldest core expression to market. Bottlings of this age and quality undeniably demonstrate the reward for patience and perseverance in whisky making.
“Our heather honey-forward distillate stands up well to ageing in rich Sherry wood, and the casks selected for this bottling certainly showcase this incredible union. Expect a refined whisky that exudes notes of rich cocoa, orange zest, honeycomb and cinnamon – a true delight.”
Noter (GlenAllachie):
Colour: Deeply Rich Mahogany.
Nose: Bursting with roasted almonds, honey and orchard fruits, with hints of worn leather and butterscotch, followed by orange zest and dark chocolate.
Taste: Lashings of grape must, hazelnut and honeycomb, followed by citrus fruits, toffee brittle and hints of ginger spice, with cinnamon and mocha on the finish.

2023 udgaven af Macallan Rare Cask er frigivet. Som tidligere, så er det en sherry aftapning uden aldersangivelse.
2023 er aftappet ved 43%
Nose: Soft notes of vanilla with rich raisin, followed by a sweet fusion of fresh apple, lemon and orange.
Palate: An intense sweet raisin dominates before giving way to vanilla and dark chocolate, with layers of light citrus zest.
Finish: Long, rich and velvety.

I samarbejde med Lalique og den amerikanske kunstner James Turrell, er Glenturret kommet med en ny aftapning med navnet Eight Decades. Hvis navnet James Turrell virker bekendt, så skyldes det måske at han er arkitikten bag The next Level (The Dome) ved Aros i Aarhus.
Whisky Maker Bob Dalgarno har udvalgt 8 fade fra 1987 frem til 1998, der hver repræsentere en periode i James Turrell’s liv.
Der er aftappet 80 flasker ved 41,5%

I forbindelse med kroningen af King Charles, er der lavet en aftapning til Balmoral Castle.
Fadene til denne aftapning kommer fra Royal Lochnagar Distillery.
Aftapingen er 18 år gammel og der er tale om fem fade der er viet hos Royal Lochnagar, og har følgende noter: "pine forests and grassy, floral nature of the surrounding area"
Ewan Andrew, Grantee of the Royal Warrant siger: “Everyone associated with Royal Lochnagar Distillery is very proud of our roots in the Royal Deeside community.
“We have put all of our skill, craft and heritage into creating this exquisite, rare whisky for Balmoral, and we are honoured to play a part in their celebration of the Coronation of His Majesty The King.”
The first two bottles have been presented by Balmoral to HM The King and HRH Prince William, Duke of Rothesay.

4. release af Cask Strenght aftapningerne kan nu købes i deres shop.
Til denne aftapnin har Master Whisky Maker, Gordon Motion for første gang benyttet first-fill ex-port hogsheads. Der ud over er der benyttet first-fill sherry-seasoned European og American oak casks, og ex-bourbon og refill casks.
Gordon forklarer hvorfor han har valgt at bruge port casks til denne aftapning: "The Cask Strength series gives me the freedom to create something different, while still delivering the essential DNA of Highland Park flavour and character. Each release is unique, so I can use interesting casks that we only have in very small quantities – like these ex-port hogsheads. They give a wine-influenced character to the whisky – soft red fruits and floral sweetness – that you don't get with sherry seasoned casks, which deliver dried fruit and spicy notes. Although I used just a small percentage – sherry seasoned European casks are still the predominant cask type here – their distinctive flavours really do come through and using them in a limited-edition release like the Cask Strength Release No. 4 is an ideal way to create that point of difference we want to explore in our Cask Strength series".

I forbindelse med kroningen af King Charles III, er Wolfburn kommet med denne aftapning.
Coronation har ligget på first-fill bourbon barrels i lidt mere end 7 år inden den aftappet og er unpeated.
Der er aftappet 600 flasker ved 57,8%
Noter (Wolfburn):
Nose: Spring blossoms meet gentle oak smoke and dried fruit, all overlaid with a subtle sweetness.
Palate: A mouthful of fruit cake: dates, almonds, maple syrup and dark chocolate are all present. Give it time and subtle spices reveal themselves – gentle layers of cardamom and cinnamon.
Finish: Hints of vanilla gently fade gently away with a warming trace of caramel at the end.
